Crafting for Hope United in Giving

Hope United In Giving, better known as "HUG", is a non-profit organization started by my mother, Marjorie Conner, in 1998.  The organization is for the caregivers of brain injured soldiers in polytrauma centers.  My brother suffered a traumatic brain injury while on active duty in 1996.  The outcome for my brother was miraculous!  He is still serving in the Army as of today!

The purpose of "HUG" is to recognize the caregiver by making things that make life a little easier or just things as a gift just for the caregiver.

Most recently we have made tote bags filled with toiletries and personal use items, wheelchair caddies, stationery with cloth jackets, felt bags with valentine gifts and bookmarks.

Currently my mother is making Dammit Dolls, Angel First Aid Kits, Love Boxes and key chains -- to name a few.

Each month a box is packed and sent to a polytrauma center for distribution to the caregiver of inpatient brain injured soldiers and those who attend the support group meetings.

So far, it seems we are helping.  They are grateful to be recognized and they know they are not alone!

Here are a few samples of items sent in the recent past:
